Counselling and Psychotherapy in Belgravia, Victoria and Wimpole Street, Central London

Welcome to Danenza Psychotherapy

A journey of growth and awareness to empower the future you want for yourself

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Scott Danenza, and I am a qualified, registered relational integrative psychotherapist. I provide both short and long-term psychotherapy and counselling to adult individuals and couples across Central London, including Belgravia, Victoria, and Wimpole Street, as well as online via Zoom.

Why Consider Counselling or Psychotherapy?

There are many reasons why people seek therapy. You might be facing a specific challenge such as stress at work or in your personal life, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sudden life changes, or bereavement, whether recent or unresolved from the past. You may also be struggling with existential identity or sexuality issues, feeling stuck in your life - affected by past trauma, or experiencing a general lack of purpose, low mood, and motivation.

Counselling and psychotherapy can also support your personal development and help you navigate life’s uncertainties. Talking to an unbiased professional can be beneficial to understanding yourself better. Just like physical exercise and personal trainers can help support our bodies, therapy supports our emotions and mental well-being.

How Therapy Can Help

Life, and navigating the world we live in, doesn’t come with an instruction manual. It’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed or confused at times. Therapy offers a space where you can make sense of what you’re going through—where awareness becomes the first step toward making meaningful change.

Understanding your choices and cycles, recognising what you can and can’t control, and creating a plan for your future are all part of the work we can do together.

A Supportive and Confidential Space in Belgravia, Victoria & Wimpole Street

Whether you prefer to meet in-person or online, I provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly. My therapy rooms are easily accessible from Belgravia, Victoria, and Wimpole Street, making it convenient for professionals and residents seeking therapy in Central London.

My approach is relational and collaborative. I see therapy as a shared journey—something we are in together, working toward clarity, healing, and growth.

About Me – Scott Danenza

Relational Integrative Psychotherapist in Central London

My Path to Psychotherapy

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent many years working as a professional photographer with clients all around the world, from many different, cultures, backgrounds and societies. That experience, rooted in human connection and cultural exploration, naturally led me to seek a more direct way of helping others. My own time in therapy as a client was life-changing—it gave me the clarity and self-awareness to grow into the person I wanted to be. That journey inspired me to retrain and dedicate my life to supporting others through the therapeutic process.

Today, I offer a calm, confidential and compassionate space for clients to explore what’s going on in their lives. I work with individuals and couples from across Central London, including Belgravia, Victoria and Wimpole Street, both in-person and online.

I offer short-term and long-term therapy depending on each client’s needs. I speak English, Swedish, French and Italian, and am happy to work alongside professional interpreters where needed. For clients who travel regularly, I also offer flexible hybrid arrangements and offer online remote sessions to clients beyond London - across the U.K., Europe and other countries worldwide.

My approach is relational and trauma-informed. I believe that understanding the past, gaining self-awarness, can unlock clarity in the present, and that therapy provides a safe space to reflect, make choices, and move forward with confidence.

Counselling and Psychotherapy in Belgravia, Victoria and Wimpole Street

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's important to find someone you feel comfortable with. I offer a free 15–30 minute phone consultation, giving us time to explore what’s bringing you to counselling or psychotherapy and whether we’re a good fit to work together.

This initial call is informal and confidential. We’ll talk about your main reasons for seeking support and what you hope to gain from the process. You’re welcome to ask any questions about how therapy works or what to expect. There’s no obligation to continue—just space to see if the support I offer feels right for you.

Finding Support Through Therapy

Psychotherapy provides a safe and private space where thoughts and feelings can be shared freely and without judgement with someone who is unbiased and professionally trained. Whether you're facing anxiety, low mood, grief, identity questions, or difficulties in relationships, therapy can help you gain clarity and make sense of what’s happening. Some people come to therapy in crisis; others feel stuck or disconnected, unsure of what’s wrong but knowing something needs to change. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Our work together begins wherever you are in the present. Therapy can also support personal growth, helping you explore how past experiences may be affecting your present and giving you the tools to respond to life with more confidence and awareness.

Working Together

I offer both short-term and long-term psychotherapy and counselling for adults, 18 and over, either in person or online. My practice is based in Central London, with consulting rooms easily accessible from Belgravia, Victoria, and Wimpole Street, Marylebone. Together, we’ll work to better understand your experiences and the patterns that may be holding you back, so you can begin to move forward. If you're ready to begin or just curious about what therapy might offer, please get in touch to arrange your free consultation.

FAQs

1. What is Relational Integrative Psychotherapy?

Relational Integrative Psychotherapy combines several therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic, humanistic modalities such as IFS or Gestalt, cognitive-behavioural methods, and existential philosophies with a particular emphasis on the relationship between therapist and client. The therapeutic relationship is seen as a central cornerstone to healing and personal growth. In this approach, we work collaboratively to explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and past experiences in a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental environment.

2. How do I know if psychotherapy is right for me?

Psychotherapy or counselling can be helpful if you’re dealing with challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck in life. It’s also beneficial for personal development, healing from past trauma, or navigating major life transitions. If you’re unsure, an initial consultation can help you assess if therapy is the right step and if my approach suits your needs.

3. Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

I offer both in-person therapy sessions in various locations across London such as Marylebone, St James and St Pauls, as well as online therapy, mainly via Zoom. This gives you the flexibility to choose the format that best fits your lifestyle and preferences, whether you prefer face-to-face interaction or the convenience of online sessions from your home.

4. How do online therapy sessions work?

Online therapy sessions take place mainly via Zoom though I am also open to MS Teams and WhatsApp/Facetime, if necessary, where we engage in real-time conversations on camera, similar to in-person sessions. I will provide a secure Zoom link before each session. You’ll need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Online therapy although different in some ways, many people find it is equally effective as in-person therapy and provides a safe, confidential space for our work together.

5. What can I expect during my first session?

The first session, which is charged at a lower rate, is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you might have. I’ll explain my approach and answer any questions you have about the process. This session may also include a more in-depth assessment where I will ask specific questions of your situation and needs to help us both determine if we’re a good fit to work together.

6. How long are the therapy sessions?

Each session lasts 50 minutes to 1 hour. This is the standard length for therapy sessions and allows sufficient time to explore key issues and make meaningful progress. If needed, longer sessions can be discussed and arranged as one offs during our time together.

7. How many sessions will I need?

I offer both short-term therapy (usually 10 to 18 sessions) and long-term, open-ended therapy. The duration of therapy depends on your personal goals and the issues you’re looking to address. Short-term therapy can help with specific challenges or goals, while long-term therapy provides a deeper, ongoing exploration of your emotional and psychological well-being. We will regularly review your progress to ensure the therapy is meeting your needs and adjust, as necessary.

8. Are sessions confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is essential in therapy. What we discuss in our sessions is kept strictly private and secure, with the exception of situations where there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others, or where the law requires disclosure for court for example. I will explain the limits of confidentiality in more detail during the first session.

9. How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment by contacting me through the website’s contact form, by email, or by phone (please bear in mind that due to the nature of my work, my phone is off a lot of the time but is regularly checked in between sessions). Once we’ve discussed your availability and therapy needs, we’ll find a suitable time for your first session. I will confirm the details and provide any information you need to get started.

10. What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

11. What are your fees?

Generally, my fees are £85 per session online and £105 session for in person face-to-face sessions. I do also offer a sliding scale based on individual circumstances and availability. Please reach out to discuss your specific situation, and we can find a fee structure that works best for you.
